President Yang Chaoxiang of Fo Guang University said that although the Department of Industrial Media is very young, its performance is very excellent, with good results every year, and this year is even more fruitful! I am very grateful to the teachers for their tireless guidance of the students. Today we can see the growth of the students in the past four years. I believe that with such great works as the foundation for the society, the future development of Foda students will definitely be limitless.
Among them, Zhao Wenbo, the general convener of this graduation exhibition, is from Thailand. He first came to Taiwan to study at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist College, and later transferred to the Department of Industrial Media at Fo Guang Shan University. In order for this event to showcase the characteristics of Fo Guang University, he wrote a letter to Master Hsing Yun of Fo Guang Shan to report the exhibition. The master specially presented him with a calligraphy to encourage all students in the Department of Industrial Media to "be clever and wise." Zhao's four years of professional development at Foshan University and his hard work as a student have resulted in excellent awards this year. He and Zhong Caiyu were shortlisted for two international Red Dot Concept Design Awards for their improved "COCOJU" that allows people in their hometown to drink coconut water conveniently. In addition, "Bu II" won the Gold Award for Industry-University Cooperation.
In addition, senior students Lin Zhengyun and Dong Qirui, who were shortlisted for six "International Red Dot Design Awards", also exhibited and shared their ideas on site. Seeing that preschoolers are afraid of seeing a doctor, they designed a series of children's treatment equipment, including the "IC needle protect" fixator, the "Inflammation sensor" inflammation temperature patch, and the "Atomxation treatment" atomization treatment. In order to make their designs truly practical in society, Lin Zhengyun and Dong Qirui went to hospitals several times to let medical staff experience them. They hope that such designs will enable children who are afraid of seeing a doctor to seek medical treatment bravely in the future.
In this graduation exhibition, the design "FGW" by junior students Li Shichen and Zheng Shaoqian, and the beach cleaning vehicle "FANCY" by Zhang Xuanming and Cai Yixian were specially exhibited. In response to social trends, "FGW" combines electric vehicles with a flywheel system that is trendy in sports, turning a means of transportation into sports equipment. This creation even won the silver medal in the Kymco Motorcycle Design Challenge Cup. The "FANCY" beach cleaning vehicle with a cute shrimp appearance was recognized with the Gold Award of the 2019 ND Superstar Design Award. It aims to make beach cleaning easier and restore the original natural ecology of the world's beaches.
Regarding the students' outstanding achievements, Director Zhang Zhisheng of the Department of Industrial Media proudly stated that "Fo Guang University's Department of Industrial Media is the strongest!" In order to present the results of four years of study, the 8th Graduation Exhibition of the Department of Product and Media Design will exhibit diverse and rich works, including product design, fashion crafts, visual communication and digital animation. From now until May 6, the graduation exhibition of the Department of Industrial Media of Fo Guang University will be exhibited at the New Generation Design Exhibition. Interested students are welcome to participate. In addition, starting this year, 20 places for independent students are available. Students who have graduated from high school or vocational college and are interested in design are welcome to apply.
