Creativity is like ink, flowing to generate endless possibilities.
The annual exhibition "MORE" by the Department of Product and Media Design at Fo Guang University officially opened on January 14th, showcasing students' achievements in diverse fields such as product design, media design, and video creation, demonstrating the creative energy and practical skills of the new generation of designers.
This exhibition is based on the main visual concept.
"Creativity is like an unnamed form, flowing, extending, and generating; before it settles, it opens up more possibilities. — MORE"
Centered on the concept of "ink," the flow of ink symbolizes creativity without being confined by frameworks. Students respond to life and social issues through design, presenting diverse and design-oriented works.
The principal encouraged students not to worry excessively about being replaced by artificial intelligence in the face of the rapid development of the AI era, because all AI training and applications originate from human creativity, design, and judgment. He emphasized that designers' thinking and imagination remain the key, and hoped that students would solidly cultivate their professional skills during their studies, make good use of AI tools to achieve synergistic effects, and create works with greater depth and value.
Dean Luo Ronghua also highly praised the students' hard work and teamwork this semester. He pointed out that even in the last week of the semester, the class attendance rate remained extremely high, which fully demonstrated the students' emphasis on learning and their dedication to their major. This was very gratifying and brought great encouragement to the teachers.
The department head encouraged students with the exhibition's theme, "Ink. More," reminding them that while constantly pursuing innovation and breakthroughs, they should also cherish their learning experiences and growth trajectory, as these accumulations will become important nourishment for future creations. He hoped that students would continue to improve themselves in the new semester, be bold in trying new things, deepen their professional knowledge, and lay a more solid foundation for their future development.
The opening event showcased smart products, interactive media, and visual design works, moving from everyday needs to the connection between emotion and technology, making design a way to understand the world. 💡
This exhibition fully presents the learning process and creative energy of students from grades one to three. The content covers basic training, professional in-depth study and integrated practice. It also showcases the optimization results made by students in the last two weeks of the "16+2" semester for the course content, demonstrating the rich interplay between teaching and learning.
First-year students made their debut with themes of "magic wand" and "white tower," interpreting their creative ideas through boundless imagination. Their works demonstrate an exploration of form, proportion, and concept. They also showcased the learning outcomes of professional foundation courses such as model making and digital drawing software operation, laying a solid foundation for their future design capabilities.
Second-year students, through professional courses such as institutional design and narrative design, gradually transform abstract concepts into concrete works, demonstrating their design logic and structural thinking abilities. Through integrated training in specialized courses, students combine life experiences and social observations to try to integrate AI applications into the design process, ultimately presenting creative results that combine rationality and perspective in a clean, simple white model.
Despite being the smallest group, the third-year students demonstrated remarkable cohesion through intensive weekly discussions and planning, successfully completing the overall design and execution of this exhibition. Their works also incorporated diverse industry-academia collaborative competitions and practical experience, showcasing mature professionalism and practical skills, and providing ample preparation for subsequent international internships and graduation projects.
This exhibition not only summarizes the students' progress but also demonstrates their continued growth in creativity, technology, and critical thinking.
The exhibition will run until January 16th. Teachers and students are cordially invited to visit and explore the creative world of *MORE* magazine! 👀🎨
